Welcome to MillennialChild.com

We hope to serve as a contemporary resource for people interested in educating children in the twenty-first century. Our foundation rests on

Waldorf education, and we enthusiastically acknowledge that the Waldorf method is based on Anthroposophy, a worldview promulgated by Rudolf Steiner.

Rather than prescribing narrow limits to the scope of this web site, Steiner's approach serves as a springboard for understanding and embracing all

that serves the true needs of the modern child. We hope that millennialchild.com is helpful to all educators and parents who visit it.

E-mail us at info@millennialchild.com or call us at 610-906-7644.

NEW:

As postal rates soar and delivery times slow down, we are pleased to announce that almost all of our lectures

and our collections of student work may now be purchased as downloadable files. Rather than waiting for your

CDs to arrive in the mail, order them as downloads and you'll receive them within a day of your order.

All it takes is an order made on our Online Catalog and an e-mail from you indicating that you want your order

sent as a download. Your order will arrive sooner, and your shipping and handling charges will be refunded.

Four New Videos: Discover Waldorf Education is a series of short videos introducing Waldorf education

to prospective parents and the general public. Discover Waldorf Education, Part One is a general introduction,

while Discover Waldorf Education: Grade 6 Geometry is a showcase of student work in that subject. From Movement to

Form explores the teaching of writing in Grade One, and From Story to Letter presents the Waldorf approach to reading.

We've been told that all of these videos are wonderful for Waldorf grandparents and neighbors of Waldorf families!

Movement in Education: The increasingly sedentary nature of elementary education is a growing concern, and Waldorf schools are a glowing exception

to this trend. Jeff Tunkey, a teacher at the Aurora Waldorf`School in West Falls. NY, has created a web site to explore this issue. He describes it as

"A resource – inspired by Waldorf Education – for teachers and parents who want to provide children a path to healthy development through age-appropriate

movement activities...…and for all who seek to shelter childhood from teenage attitudes and adult concerns."

The site includes
• Developmental insights for parents and teachers
• How movement supports academic foundations
• Addressing learning difficulties and styles through movement
• Curriculum resources for Extra Lesson and Phys Ed Teachers
• Games of all kinds – for gym and home
• Recreational Gymnastics for fun, agility and growth

Is There Life After Waldorf School? One answer may be found at the web site www.earthrunenergy.com. Austin Johnson, a

sixteen-year-old graduate of the Aurora Waldorf School of Alaska, is presently attending secondary school, but he has put his

Waldorf middle school physics experiences to good use. Austin has invented and built a remarkably simple and effective device

to turn any stream into a source of hydroelectric power, and he hopes to distribute his product throughout the developing world.

Eurythmy: Making Movement Human is the title of a new DVD that gives an in-depth answer to the perennial question of Waldorf

parents, "What is Eurythmy and why does my child have to study it?" Never before has "pedagogical eurythmy" been so

extensively filmed and explained by several seasoned eurythmy teachers. In addition, there is remarkable footage of performances

by the Goetheanum Eurythmy Stage Ensemble and the Spring Valley Eurythmy group. Virginia Sease, Barbara Schneider-Serio,

eurythmists, speech artists, and Waldorf teachers present insightful commentary on the past, present, and future of this performing art.
